Author events at Nashville Public Library

SalonNashville Public Library has some great events coming up! On October 18, Sherman Alexie, author of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian will be discussing his latest collection of short stories, Blasphemy. This event will be held at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. And here's a rare opportunity--on November 5, NPL will be hosting Mem Fox at the main library! Mem Fox is Australia's best loved picture-book author. Her first book, Possum Magic, has sold over four million copies and is still the bestselling children's book in Australia, 29 years after its publication.

School of Art Lecture on Creating Books for Children

UT's School of Art will host its first colloquial this Friday, September 7 by John McRae and Jona Shehu in room 111 from 12:15-1:15.  The topic is Writing and illustrating for children, ages 3-5 and will offer explorations into the approach to story and illustration development; tapping into the realm of a child’s thought process with stories intended to touch and stretch the imagination.
