Ruta Sepetys to Speak Tuesday October 8th

Ruta Sepetys, author of the acclaimed novel Between Shades of Gray, will speak at the University on Tuesday October 8th at 7pm in the Hodges Library Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public. Between Shades of Gray is a powerful story inspired by Sepetys' own families' experience in Lithuania under Soviet Occupation during Stalin's brutal dictatorship. Sepetys' second novel, Out of the Easy, combines her "love for New Orleans, historical scandal, and the idea that we are most perfect in our imperfection."
